Senior Session Spotlight!

When Hayden and I started chatting to prepare for her session, I knew we were going to have a blast together! She’s super easygoing and her sweet personality really shines in her images. Hayden is a dedicated student and talented soccer player. She’s committed to playing at the collegiate level for Northwest! Hayden and her mom came from the Memphis area to work with me in Tuscaloosa, AL for her custom senior portrait session.

We decided to combine urban and nature backgrounds so Hayden could get a great variety of looks during her session. Our first stop was the Federal Courthouse in Downtown Tuscaloosa. Hayden’s first outfit was perfect for the weather and provided a pop of contrast against the white pillars and flowers.

After the Courthouse, we headed to some of my favorite spots for Hayden’s next outfit. I really love urban areas for senior sessions. Typically, urban backdrops have interesting textures and colors to work with. They also allow for a wide variety of posing, from leaning to crouching to sitting on benches, and stairs.

Next we stopped by the Randall Welcome Center building on the campus of The University of Alabama. I absolutely love using this building as a backdrop. It offers stunning clean white architecture and fabulous golden afternoon light. Hayden planned a gorgeous black and white color block dress for this location. In my opinion, it’s always a great idea to include at least one dressy look at your session!

Our final stop was so much fun! Hayden’s choice of a sweater dress and boots was perfect for a fall session and coordinated with the bridge and grasses so well!
